I was cheesed by the power of this song.
However, I was saved with the rock. On first listen, I cried and wept tears of sadness. I couldn’t fathom what the GazettE were thinking when they made SILLY GOD DISCO. Just look at the title! SILLY GOD DISCO! It was all slow, sultry and poppy and that didn’t mesh with me. You had the kick-ass SHADOW VI II I and the upsetting and disturbingly true tale of Taion and the head-crusher known as Discharge (10 sexual puns come to mind when I think of that title) but somehow SILLY GOD DISCO didn’t fit.

But this song really is silly. Ruki’s Engrish was never as indecipherable as it is in this song and somewhere it talks about “doodling on Ayumi” (or at least that’s what my ears here). I know the song is about meeting someone at a club, so is Discharge about the….aftereffects of said sex? Ruki I told you that girls at clubs were dirty….
He is so fucking Japanese….XD
But anyways, back to the DISCO of SILLY GODDING or whatever, it took a while (and the video too!) to start liking this song. I still don’t think that it fits into the soundscape of NIL the way it should, but NIL was a record of risks. Some paid off, some didn’t. I think Silly God Disco….well it’s not their style at all, that’s for sure. Disorder and Stacked Rubbish were aptly titled, so I don’t know of where else they could have put this song.
Well it’s nice to see them experimenting with new styles. Shame they don’t do that anymore. Well, we’ll always have NIL, right fanboys?
SILLY GOD DISCO….not a good style of their sound but a good indication of what they do when they don’t try to imitate other bands. The GazettE is weird, and they need to embrace their weirdness and give me more of their old stuff. Like THIS! Or Wakaremichi. Or MADARA! Or something.
Really hoping Distress and Coma’s a lot better….God was not ready for Stacked Rubbish….
