For the record, I think Dou means “Painting” but I could be wrong.
I find the PV bland, which is fitting for a song that sounds like another generic oshare-kei band. There’s nothing wrong with Dou per-se, but I have nothing going for it. NoGoD has so much potential and they used to fluctuate between doing softer songs and harder songs, but Dou nerfed the Midori no Kaze single with it’s sugary poppiness. If it were just a tad harder, I would like this song.
There are a lot of things in this song that I do like. The verses have some nice rhythmical patterns with Danchou’s voice going on and K’s drum beats at the end are pretty cool. This song also ends of nicely and makes a good lead-in to the epic Seshuuka, but it’s the guitars that irk me. THEY SOUND SO FAMILIAR! By my NoGoD standards, this pales. They know they can do so much better but they churn out this and for what?
I don’t mind poppy songs but give me some more hard stuff to go along with it. Six songs and only two of them are even remotely rock-ish, and one of them is dragged down by a poppy chorus? What are you guys up to? They’re sniffing all those paint chemicals, that’s what. Danchou’s also wearing a damn button over his eye. What’s the attractiveness in that (although now that I think of it, there’s always SOMETHING over his eye)?
Meh, I’m being too rough and going off the beaten path. Dou is just…..bland. From a band that shows so much promise, this is a big disappointment.
