I think that I have a 6 week waiting period when it comes to getting into new bands. I’ve known of Sadie for months but I failed to get on them until the release of Ice Romancer (which I still haven’t heard yet). When my lazy ass finally DID get around to listening to this band, 迷彩 (Meisai) was the first song that I listened to. While this song wasn’t the one that ended up getting me into the band, it’s a decent song. I find the guitar hooks bland but easy enough to get into. They could have used some work, but every song in my book could have used some work. I’m not a very easy listener to please with a track that can completely blow me over, but a lot of tracks can be just good enough to please me. This would be one of those tracks.
Meisai is also the first PV Sadie did (I think). I’m not entirely too sure, but this is one of their earlier tracks. You can smell the indies all over it. Indie music isn’t exactly a bad thing, but you’re not going to find the musical finesse of Gackt, say, in this track. Oh, and for a first, this is what many ignorant people call screamo emo music. After I dislodge my foot from betwixt your ass for thinking Sadie is screamo emo, I have to admit that Mao screams quite a lot (which is why my foot was removed). Well, not scream. More scream-sing. Mao’s got a certain style of “singing” (I’m not sure if singing is an appropriate term at times) that is hard to get into but you can tell it’s him. And when he does sing he sounds very good so everything works out in the end. Or maybe in the beginning if you like this style of music.
Scream on, scream on, scream on, scream until your dreams come true (or until your throat goes raw, whichever comes first).
It really depends on you. I like covering all sorts of music, and this may be just right for somebody. Even though I’ve never managed to sit through this entire video, I’ve listened to the song on repeat on my iPod. It’s catchy and a good way to ease tension and anger and stress, which I seem to have a lot of lately.
Damn midterms.
Other than that, I’m pretty much done until I translate these lyrics. Then I’ll be back with some more. Yeah, you can’t get rid of me.

English Lyrics
If time passes, it’s fine here also; soon will we forget one another?
I laughed; rison
pulled out the thorn deeply pierced; foolish one who discovers something
the right person at the right time who performs seeks tomorrow
please give me pain and sadness; more deep wounds for this body
sachiare
you probably won’t have any problems if you confessed; sense of loss changes shakily
Cannot see your bluff neither before nor after
In a daydream where I cried and cried, (I) stare at something, scream something
Can’t do anything, rain before my eyes…
the grief of comparing (the ideas of ) scattering and binding firmly is the colour of loneliness
in the early days, I was impulsively having nightmares
reasons that scatter openly; and even tomorrow
Ah, does (my ) voice reach you?
Indefinable-evanescent life …
If time passes, it’s fine (weather) here also; soon will we forget one another?
I laughed; rison
pulled out the thorn deeply pierced; foolish one who discovers something
the right person at the right time who performs seeks tomorrow
in the end, I inform you [SAYONARA]…
the grief of comparing (the ideas of ) scattering and binding firmly is the colour of loneliness
in the early days, I was impulsively having nightmares
reasons that scatter openly; and even tomorrow
Ah, does (my) voice reach you?
Indefinable-evanescent life …
In a daydream where I cried and cried, (I) stare at something, scream something
Can’t do anything, rain before my eyes…
Does it reach you? Even if this voice screams in a far place
what you gave me was too much…
the grief of comparing (the ideas of ) scattering and binding firmly is the colour of loneliness
in the early days, I was impulsively having nightmares
reasons that scatter openly; and even tomorrow
Ah, does (my) voice reach you?
Indefinable-evanescent life …

Some can consider this borderline “emo”, and for that I’d have to give you some acknowledgement for that, because these lyrics are somewhat emotional and depressing. But remember, lyrics that show sadness also should have a message. If not, then yea, they’re emo and the vocalist really needs to get laid, masturbate, or get some pills.
Mao and co. don’t have to worry about popping pills though. The song is about someone dear to the speaker that disappears like camofluage. But it’s not the “OMGEEZUS I WAS A SUCKY BOYFR1END AND NAO I’M ALL ALONEZ BOO HOO HOO *cutwristanddie*”. I think it’s the betrayal of a relationship and the crashing of an individual’s sanity. Kyo from Dir en grey would write some crazy shit like that and I don’t doubt Mao’s learning lessons from the Prophet.
If the guitars were awesome but stale, the lyrics would be stale but awesome. It’s nothing new that we haven’t heard before, but it’s still emotional and from the heart. Generic =/= bad in my book. Generic can equal bad, but generic is just generic. This song is…generic but a good kind of generic. It’s not the mass-produced boy band pop rock depressing kind of music nor is it the bathroom metal trash of a lot of American metal. It’s somewhere in the middle and doesn’t associate itself with either.
And rockers who use big words are always awesome. Lines with multiple syllables and one word somehow sound more bad-ass and less like rock with rap influence, since a lot of rockers seem to want to rap in their music nowadays. Ugh, everyone wants to be a crap Linkin Park clone.
My response: GTFO and get some MUSICAL INSPIRATION. Bitches.
I have a serious problem with artists that have no inspiration to write, but this song isn’t one of them. If this is your cup of tea, enjoy the headbanging fest that will follow.
Meisai is found on Dekiai as track 2 and -Undead13 + 2- as track number 2.
