The PV for Gackt’s GHOST is already on YouTube, and yours truly uploaded one just for you. I’ll save my thoughts on the song for the single review whenever it comes out. For now, I’ll focus on the video as a video.
Personally, I think the video sucks. Why? Because it’s 1/2 Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles (which I think sucks godzilla balls in the Terminator universe) and 1/2 Gackt dancing around as if he’s got a stick shoved up his ass. At least the Gackt parts are funny, but some of the Terminator parts are just thrown in to take up space, and don’t mesh with the music well.
This really is nothing more than one big advertisement for Terminator. Am I complaining? A little.
So discarding all of the weak Terminator parts (because we know this was just one big promo for Terminator), I guess a janitor gets Terminated by Gackt or something. The video fails even in the realm of the Terminator universe because people don’t become Terminators. And somebody’s telling me they never noticed five termi-dudes standing in the middle of a room all alone.
Oh, and when the camera zooms in on Gackt, it rotates a whole FIVE degrees. Gackt is literally staring into the camera singing the song. Is that a bad thing? No, because it’s done just enough to fit well with the rest of the clip. Gackt and his backup dancers (I can’t tell if it’s GacktJOB or not) do a good job of syncing their dances with the music, but I wish there was just a bit more….it’s like when they ran out of dance shots they threw in Terminator footage.
It’s not even GOOD Terminator footage. Did Gackt and co. go out, buy the DVD’s, and cut a few seconds of footage out of each episode? It would have been a whole lot better in my opinion if Gackt played the Terminator himself and did a whole bunch of the action shots while alternating with him dancing.
Good parts to this video? There are a few. The janitor at the beginning and the end is hilarious, and the fact that a janitor owns an iPod Touch begs me to ask how much he gets paid where he sweeps. Speaking of sweeping, does someone want to tell me why he mops glass? Gackt’s makeup is pretty cool too, and the electrical effects during the video were different and blended with the theme well. And Gackt terminating somebody is something I would PAY to see. And even though I said I wouldn’t bring up the music, the song was pretty good. I only listened to it once though, so I won’t get too in-depth here.
All in all, it’s a decent PV with a great song behind it, so my score reflects what I think about it.

Janitor is sweeping up the bank vault/chronoportation chamber in the first ep in the aftermath of the first episode. I thought the PV was pretty good. Though i do agree that too much of the TV series was in the vid.
Well that clears up what he was cleaning, but would you like to tell me why he’s mopping glass? Not sweeping, MOPPING. I thought that was a bit odd.
